Class Schedule

Day Time Class
Tuesday 7:30pm - 9:00pm No Gi
Wednesday 7:00pm - 8:30pm Beginners
Thursday 7:30pm - 9:00pm Gi

No Gi: The No-Gi BJJ class focuses on grappling techniques without the traditional kimono (gi). This style emphasises different grip fighting strategies, body mechanics, and submissions that are adapted for the absence of fabric to hold onto. It's an excellent complement to gi training, enhancing overall grappling proficiency, improving speed and agility, and preparing practitioners for various grappling disciplines and self-defence situations.

Beginners: Designed for newcomers to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Covers fundamental movements, positions, and basic submissions in a friendly environment.

Gi: A typical Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) class conducted with a gi (the traditional uniform) provides a structured and comprehensive training session. It generally commences with a dynamic warm-up, followed by detailed instruction and drilling of techniques that heavily utilise the gi for grips, control, and submissions. The class culminates in live sparring, known as "rolling," where practitioners apply these gi-dependent strategies against resisting partners, before concluding with a cool-down. This format allows students to build foundational skills, refine advanced movements, and develop strategic thinking within the unique context of gi grappling.
